You are invited to join The Children’s Alliance Monthly meeting this Wednesday March 4. We are opening our member only meeting to the community.  This month we are hosting a moderated panel of community stakeholders to discuss the impact of school performance grades in Mecklenburg County. Wednesday’s panelist are below:

Angela Grant — Principal, Winterfield Elementary

Amy Daniels — Director of Outreach, Christ Lutheran Church, McClintock Partners in Education (McPIE)

SY Mason-Watson— PTA President at Idlewild Elementary

Nancy DeLuna — Communities in Schools Site Coordinator at Montclair Elementary

Cindy Pearson — parent and reading tutor at Shamrock Gardens Elementary

Mary Watkins — parent, Smithfield Elementary, Quail Hollow Middle School and South Meck High

Brian Schultz — Chief Academic Officer, CMS

 

The March Children’s Alliance meeting is Wednesday March 4th at 8:30 – 10 am.   We will meet in the Training rooms on the first floor of The Children Family Service Center, 601 E. 5th St. There is free parking behind the building, you can get a token to exit from the front desk. Coffee and light breakfast provided.

 

 


 

The vision of The Children’s Alliance is to provide a voice on behalf of each and every child in Mecklenburg County. We share a common goal to make sure all children in our community received the best opportunity to live a healthy and productive life.
