Boulevard Home Project Gives Families Support and Hope PDF Print Email
Tuesday, 29 June 2010 00:00

The Children’s Home Society Youth Homes division was selected as the CHA partner for the Boulevard Homes project.  Youth Homes had a ten-year partnership history with Mecklenburg County DSS to provide Intensive Family Preservation Services for vulnerable families involved in the DSS system, and the intervention model for that program fit well with what CHS was trying to accomplish.

In January, the Youth Homes division began serving families in that community and they have experienced many positive results.  On Saturday June 26, there will be a community open house to celebrate the opening of a family centered field office in the Boulevard Homes community.  This has been a true collaborative effort with several other agencies partnering to implement services for families in this community.

Frank Crawford, Executive Vice President for Programs at Children's Home Society of NC, said, “This is an incredible opportunity to set the foundation for the transformation of an entire community.  We are so pleased to have so many families so hungry for supports and services.  This says a lot about the caliber of people we are so proud to work with."

For more information, please contact Valerie Iseah at our YH offices (704-334-9955) OR any of the Family Support & Strengthening supervisory staff at the same number.
